To be eligible for a TANF-related category of PC/PU or TC/TU, an individual age 21 or older must be a specified relative and be responsible for the care and control of a dependent child. 55 Pa. Code § 151.41
NOTE: If the specified relative is under age 21, the category is PC or TC. If the specified relative is age 65 or older, the category is PH, PG, PA or TA.
A dependent child is a child who:
Is under age 18 or is 18 years old and a full-time student in a secondary school or at the same level in a vocational or technical school.
Meets one of the TANF deprivation of support conditions. See Chapter 329, Deprivation. 55 Pa. Code § 151.41
NOTE: The CAO must not assume that a child meets these conditions because he or she is in category PC, TC, or PS. The child's category is based on age. However, the child must meet the dependent-child conditions for the specified relative to be eligible for Medical Assistance (MA) in a TANF-related category.
