An eligibility worker must review all applications to make sure that the application is complete and that all required proof has been given to the CAO. CAO workers must complete data entry in e-CIS.
The system calculates eligibility and approves or rejects each application. When an application is approved, e-CIS determines the amount of the client’s benefit. A system-generated approval or rejection notice will be sent, depending on the outcome of the case. For more information on processing time frames, please see the "LIHEAP User Manual."
