For all categories of NMP, the applicant/recipient group receives a deduction of $10 if its net monthly income is more than the net income limit in Chapter 368, Appendix A or Appendix B. The CAO must deduct $10 from the applicant/recipient group's total net monthly income.
If the income that is left after the $10 deduction is less than the income limit for the applicant/recipient group, the group is eligible for NMP spend-down.
If the income that is left is more than the limit, the CAO must check to see if the applicant/recipient group has medical expenses that can be deducted.
