If the household is ineligible, the CAO must send a Notice of Ineligibility as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days from the date of application.
When the household submits needed verification, requests that the application be reopened, or asks for a new application within 30 days following the application denial date (the date on the Notice of Ineligibility), the CAO must reopen the case and redetermine SNAP eligibility without requiring a new application (see Section 579.1).
The CAO must wait until the 30th day following the application filing date to send a Notice of Ineligibility if the household did not:
Keep the first scheduled appointment or request a second appointment;
Keep two scheduled interview appointments or make further contact; or
Provide verification after the CAO:
Conducted an interview;
Asked for all required information on the same day as the interview;
Made no more requests for verification; and
Helped the household get the necessary verification.
The household does not have to file a new application form if the verification is provided within 60 days from the date the application was filed.
Eligibility begins on the date the application is completed or verification is provided.
