A household that is eligible for ongoing benefits receives benefits each month based on an issuance cycle. Benefits are posted to the recipient’s EBT account by 6:00 a.m. on the scheduled payment date.
Each county is assigned one, two, or all ten benefit cycles with benefits. (See Appendix B of this chapter for more information.)
Ongoing SNAP benefits are issued to coincide with the first semi-monthly cash benefit issuance cycle.
The CAO must enter actions to open, close, or change issuance information on or before the cycle’s deadline date. Although households receive benefits on different dates in the month based on the mailing cycle, the first day of the month is the effective date for all actions except closing. The effective date for closing is the last day of the final month of eligibility.
