The CAO must send a Confirming Notice (PA/FS 162-C) to notify the household of a mass change in the cash grant or federal benefits.
The CAO must take the following actions:
Send a PA/FS 162-C to SNAP-only households when increasing, decreasing, or closing benefits during the certification period.
Send a PA/FS 162-C to combination cash assistance/SNAP or Medical Assistance (MA)/SNAP households when a PA/FS 162-A is not required to decrease or close cash assistance or MA benefits.
Send the PA/FS 162-C so that the household receives it no later than the day the household receives the benefit. This applies to all households, regardless of how they are to report changes.
If the change in benefits is made at renewal, send a Notice to Applicant (PA/FS 162). The household must receive the notice no later than the end of the current certification period.
NOTE: If an Advance Notice (PA/FS 162-A) is sent to let a household know about an adverse action to cash assistance or MA benefits (or both), the same notice can be used for a change in the benefit amount. The CAO must send the PA/FS 162-A so that the household will receive the notice no later than the day the benefit is received.
