Information about a LIHEAP applicant or recipient is confidential and may be given out only for the following reasons:
To help in the investigation or prosecution of suspected fraud in connection with LIHEAP.
To help federal or state officials with LIHEAP audits, reviews and investigations.
To help the household apply for or receive other forms of energy assistance as long as the applicant or recipients agree to disclosure.
To allow DHS to obtain a record of the costs of shelter, heating and heating use.
