Certain reviews are required during and at the end of the TMA certification period. Alerts, SAR and Renewal work items are used to track the review process for TMA budgets.
MG71 budgets are enrolled in Semi-Annual Reporting (SAR) and will automatically be assigned a six-month SAR date. The SAR date is set to the end of the month, six months from the budget open date.
At the SAR review the CAO must follow the TMA eligibility requirements for MG71 at Section 339.22 MG71 Eligibility - Second Six Months. Also see Chapter 376.3, Semiannual Reporting.
TMA budget renewal dates are set from the date that the TMA budget is opened.
MG71 Budgets
A renewal is required at the end of the 12-month certification period for MG71. The renewal date is set to the end of the month, 12 months from the budget open date. See Chapter 376, Renewal.
Example: Elizabeth and her son, Dylan (age 3) are found eligible for MG71 on August 25. The SAR date for both budgets is set to February 28 of the next year and the renewal date is set to August 31 of the next year.
MG23 Budgets
A renewal is required at the end of the four-month certification period of MG23. The renewal date is set to the end of the month, four months from the budget open date.
Example: Ian and his daughter Susie (age 6) are found eligible for MG23 on September 21. The renewal date for their budgets will be set to January 31 of the following year.
Two system alerts are used to review for eligibility for TMA budgets:
TMA 082: Generated when an active TMA-related individual turns 18. It will generate in the month preceding the date of birth and has a 60-day due date.
If the 18-year-old is no longer in secondary or vocational school and is the only dependent child in the household, TMA must be closed, and individuals must be reviewed for other MA.
TMA 084: Generated in the third month of MG71 eligibility, prompting the worker in the fourth month of eligibility to verify that a child 18 or under remains in the household. The alert has a 60-day due date.
Issued May 23, 2018, replacing May 18, 2018
