750.3 Eligibility Period

Repatriated Nationals Assistance is available for 90 days from the date the person arrives in the U.S. The repatriate may apply for and receive repatriation assistance any time in the 90 day period. Assistance for qualifying persons is available from the date he or she was found eligible, but no earlier than the date of application.     

The CAO will not authorize a cash payment retroactive to arrival date.

The CAO reviews each recipient’s situation every 30 days to find if circumstances have changed and now require a different plan for the repatriate.

When the CAO finds that a temporary assistance recipient has enough resources available to meet his or her needs, the CAO will end temporary assistance.

At the end of the 90 day (or extended) period, the dependents of a repatriated U.S. citizen may qualify for other assistance under the Refugee Assistance Program. See Chapter 730, Refugee Assistance Program.
