Following approval by the Executive Director or his designee, the CAO will authorize a protective payment.
At application, if an individual fails to comply with the child support regulations, the CAO will authorize a protective payment effective the date eligibility is established for the budget group.
If the individual who is the payment name is sanctioned and removed from the budget group, the CAO will authorize a protective payment for the remaining budget group members effective with the first payment month that can be reached after the Advance Notice.
The effective date for all other protective payments will be the first payment date for which the CAO can meet the deadline.
The payment name will be written:
James Green for (Protective Payee)
Robert Smith, Jr. (recipient)
There is no limit on the number of protective payments for TANF/GA provided in any given month. Protective payments resulting from a sanction for refusal to comply with Employment and Training requirements or from failure to comply with child support requirements may continue as long as the condition requiring them exists.
