Acceptable documents include, but are not limited to:
Birth certificates;
Adoption papers or records;
Hospital records;
School records;
Baptismal records;
Church birth records;
Bureau of Vital Statistics Records;
U.S. passports.
NOTE: If the month and day of birth are unknown, use July 1. If the month is known but not the day, use the first day of that month.
School attendance must be verified for TANF children age 18. Proof of enrollment and attendance at a secondary, vocational or technical school must be provided within the fiscal month of the child’s 18th birthday. 55 Pa. Code § 145.44(b)
NOTE: Temporary absences for reasons accepted under the compulsory attendance laws or under regulations of the secondary school or vocational training program will not be interruptions of full-time attendance.
The CAO will verify attendance again in March, June, September, and December until the child reaches age 19 for TANF children. The CAO will verify attendance more often if there is any question about the child's student status.
