Pennsylvania is committed to assisting our Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) families reduce their dependency on welfare benefits.
The cash initiatives in this chapter are designed to meet one or more of the following goals:
To quickly engage adults in work or work activities
To divert families from the need for long-term Cash Assistance
To assist working families receiving TANF
To help Pennsylvania families reach the highest level of work participation possible
