Appendix C: PROMISe Inquiry System

Overview

The PROMISe inquiry system offers CAOs a list of names, addresses, and telephone numbers of MA providers. The list can be sorted by county or by zip code. Listed providers have been in the MA program in the past 18 months.

Sign On/Sign Off

For information on providers, click on the PROMISe icon, which is on each CAO computer desktop. Log onto the PROMISe Web page, and then click on “Provider Search” on the left side of the mail page. You can select up to five fields or just the county and type of provider.

Inquiry

The PROMISe inquiry allows inquiry by county code and ZIP code of providers by provider type and specialty code. An entry is always required for the county code and the print site.

Instructions

1. Access PROMISe by clicking the red PROMISe icon on your computer desktop.

2. Click “Login to PROMISe.”

3. Type your CWOPA name and password and click “LOGIN.”

4. On the main page, click on “Provider Search.”

5. Enter the information you are looking for, and click on “Search” at the bottom of the page. You may search using broad or very specific information.

6. On the next screen, select “All Fields,” or use the check boxes to choose specific information. Then click “Submit.” You will see the results of your search.

7. Give the client the names, addresses, and phone numbers of at least three health care providers that meet the search criteria. If only one or two providers are listed, give the client the information for those providers.

8. If the individual wants information for more providers, tell him or her to get in touch with the contact individual, who can work with the enrollment broker to find more providers.

Error Messages

The following error messages may appear, depending on the data entered:

NOTE:  Valid county codes are 01–75 and 99.

NOTE:  Valid provider types are 01, 03, 04, 07, and 15.
