Using IEVS – Chapter 3 |
Screens |

Certain standards have been used to name the IEVS screens. These standards are established to make it easier to identify the type of screen you are accessing. Each screen has a six-digit transaction code. This transaction code is how IEVS recognizes each screen. All of the IEVS screens contain a mini menu, which provides flexibility and efficiency in the processing of multiple transactions. All of the IEVS screens can be accessed from the Main Menu or by direct access using the transaction code and the appropriate parameters.
The screen format for IEVS was also designed with certain standards in mind. All IEVS screens are separated into three areas: Screen/User Identification area; the Data Entry/Display area; and the Mini Menu area.
The Screen/User Identification area appears at the top of the screens. The Screen/User Identification area contains:
TRANS CODE |
All screens have a six-character transaction code in the top left corner. These codes uniquely identify each screen. |
SCREEN TITLE |
The full title of the screen appears centered on the first line. |
DATE/TIME |
The current date and current time appear on the top right of each screen. |
|
The Data Entry/Display area is located in the central portion of each screen. The Data Entry/Display area contains data entry fields, prompts, and fields that display information. |
|
Mini Menu - The Mini Menu appears at the bottom of all IEVS screens. It provides transaction codes for additional screens that the operator may wish to access next. |
There are three primary menus in the IEVS system: the Main Menu, the Mini Menu and the Glossary Menu. These menus are the primary way to navigate through IEVS. The Main Menu allows you to access any transaction except the update transactions.
