The CAO must accept and process all applications that have the applicant's name, address, and a signature. The CAO must date-stamp the application as soon as it is turned in.
The CAO must review the application for expedited criteria to identify households potentially eligible for expedited services and record potential eligibility or ineligibility for expedited services on the PA 600.
NOTE: An applicant household is a one- or multi-person household which has submitted an application requesting benefits the household currently does not receive. An applicant household must be screened for expedited SNAP.
NOTE: A recipient household- is a household currently receiving SNAP and is applying for a different benefit or adding on a new member to the SNAP benefit. A recipient household does not need to be screened for expedited SNAP.
The CAO must hold an application interview with households that qualify for expedited SNAP benefits.
After the preliminary review, the CAO must take the following actions:
Schedule interviews for SNAP households that meet requirements for expedited service so that they can participate by the fifth calendar day from the application filing date.
Schedule interviews for other SNAP households so that they can participate by the 30th calendar day from the application filing date.
