Any responsible member of the household may choose an AR to apply for, get, or use SNAP benefits for the household.
The designated AR who knows the household's situation may complete the SNAP interview for the household.
The CAO must encourage the household to name an AR when applying.
The CAO must write the name of the AR in the household's case file on the Household screen as the Second Payment name in eCIS. There are no limits on the number of households an AR may represent.The CAO must make sure that:
Each household has freely asked for the assistance of the AR;
The request for an AR is in writing;
The household’s circumstances are correctly represented;
The household is getting the correct amount of benefits; and
The AR is properly using the benefits.
