The CAO will calculate net income for all categorically eligible and expanded categorically eligible households.
For one- and two-person categorically eligible households, the CAO must issue a minimum $23 benefit, even if the Basis of Issuance Table shows no entitlement amount. (See Chapter 568, Appendix B.)
There is no minimum benefit for households with three or more persons. The CAO must issue the amount shown in the Basis of Issuance Tables.
NOTE: Categorically eligible households with three or more members may be entitled to benefits of at least $2. If the computation results in a benefit of $1, $3, or $5, round it up to $2, $4, or $6, respectively.
Exception: The benefit is prorated according to the proration table in the first application month. See Chapter 568, Appendix C.
Some categorically eligible and expanded categorically eligible households of three or more persons will not be eligible for benefits because their net income is over the limit for which a benefit may be issued. The system will generate the appropriate notice using reason code 322.
