Migrant or seasonal farm worker households are eligible to receive a full monthly benefit for the application month if the household has participated in Pennsylvania or another state in the 30 days before the application month.
The CAO must data-enter an open date equal to the first day of the application month. The system accepts an opening transaction only if the “application received date” on the PA 601 is on or before the open date.
Example: A migrant farm worker household arrives in Pennsylvania on July 28, files an application on July 29, and is found eligible. The household reports receipt of SNAP benefits in North Carolina in early June for the month of June only. Since the household was a participating household within the last 30 days, the CAO must authorize full benefits for July, with an open date and “application received date” of July 1.
