When an applicant household cannot be contacted in person or by telephone to be told of the expedited service denial, the CAO must mail the Notice of Denial of Expedited Service (PA/FS 163) to the household. The PA/FS 163 notice must be mailed on the same day the CAO determines that the household is ineligible for expedited service.
The CAO must document that the household was informed of the denial. It is not necessary to maintain a copy of the PA/FS 163 in the case file.
The PA/FS 163 must not be substituted for the Notice of Eligibility (PA/FS 162) that informs the household of ineligibility to receive SNAP benefits.
